Afinia L502/L501 Ink Cartridges

Afinia Label’s L501 color label printer, which is now available in Canada, uses two types of inks — pigment and dye — depending on the print head installed. All you need to change ink types are the corresponding print head and a set of ink cartridges in the desired ink type. With the Afinia L501, these print heads and inks can be swapped out as desired.

Using Dye Inks in the Afinia L502/L501

Dye inks and the dye print head are used for printing vibrant prime labels for products, marketing, and other purposes where you want the most colorful, eye-catching labels possible. Dye inks are typically used with the following label materials:

Paper labels and tags (matte and high gloss)
Polypropylene labels (matte and high gloss)
Clear labels
Polyester labels

Note: You cannot use dye inks to print chemical labels.

We stock L501 dye inks (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) and the L501 dye print head. Order individually or get the L501 dye printing kit which includes the print head and a full set of dye ink cartridges.

Using Pigment Inks in the Afinia L502/L501

Pigment inks and the pigment print head are used for printing durable, waterproof, smudge-free, and GHS BS5609 labels on the L501. Typically, you will need to use pigment inks and pigment print head with the following label materials:

Paper labels and tags (matte and high gloss)
Polypropylene labels (matte) *Pigment inks are not compatible with glossy synthetic labels like high or semi gloss polyester, high or glossy polypropylene, or clear labels.
GHS BS5609-certified labels
