Job Description
DuraFast Label Company is in need of a sales professional interested in learning how to use the latest digital label production and finishing equipment to facilitate sales across the USA and Canada. Our Digital Label Production Specialist is responsible for building new business for printed label orders and then using our digital label printing equipment to print and digitally finish labels for delivery to our customers. Since all digital label printing originates from customer-provided design files, the Digital Label Production Specialist must be able to adjust the customer’s design file for printing the design on our digital press and then prepare the file for use with our digital cutters.
One of the main responsibilities of the successful candidate for this job is to run our label sales department. Our Digital Label Production Specialist develops and sells printed label products, takes customer orders for those printed labels, prints the labels on our digital label printers and finishing systems, and then sends the finished jobs to the customers.
Responsibilities:
- Shares knowledge about our products, refers to price lists and product literature
- Attends industry trade shows and demonstrates our products to potential customers and end users
- Investigates and resolves problems in a efficient and effective manner
- Learns to use the latest digital label printing and finishing equipment that we sell such as:
- Primera CX1200, UniNet iColor 700, and Afinia L801 Memjet digital label presses for printing full color labels
- Primera FX1200 and the Scorpio Plus label finishing systems to digitally cut, laminate, and finish label jobs
- Training will be provided
- Runs customers' print jobs on digital label printing and finishing equipment
- Demonstrates digital label printing and finishing equipment to customers interested in buying
- Conducts on-site customer training and installation of the above equipment
- Discusses features and benefits of our products, either in one-on-one customer meetings, via telephone conversations, or at trade shows
- Prepares customer quotes and takes orders
- Corresponds with customers via email and phone
Desired Skills and Experience
Candidate should have some experience in the label printing industry and an understanding about labels and their production. Other skills include: strong sales skills, communications skills (oral and written), product knowledge, technical skills (i.e., Adobe Illustrator, Bartender), customer service, and problem solving, independence, confidence, motivation, and people skills.
Must be able to work independently and be able to travel to the USA for tradeshows and some of the product training.
Computer skills:
- Label design software skills - We sell BarTender and NiceLabel design software as part of our in-house labeling solutions. Candidate should be comfortable using and explaining the benefits of these products.
- Adobe skills - Candidate should be computer literate with Windows 7 Professional and skilled in the use of Adobe (specifically Adobe Illustrator) and Corel Draw (for setting up label design files to print). Experience using the Primera CX1200 and FX1200 finishing system is desired, but not required.
