Afinia L801 Plus Memjet Colour Label Printer

The Afinia L801 Plus Memjet colour label printer uses different inks than the popular Afinia L801. Though the two models are nearly identical with the exception of the inks, the inks are not interchangeable. Thus, it’s important to determine your label requirements before selecting a printer.

L801 Standard Inks vs L801 Plus Inks

Afinia developed the L801 and the L801 Plus to meet the needs of different customers. The original Afinia L801 uses standard Memjet inks to produce vibrant colors for product labels. The L801 Plus, on the other hand, features WaterShield Ink Technology, which uses WaterShield water-resistant inks that produce a more durable label with more neutral blacks and grays while also being more eco-friendly.

Because the L801 Plus inks are much more resistant to prolonged exposure to moisture, the Afinia L801 Plus Memjet label printer is ideal for printing product labels likely to encounter wet conditions or for labels that will be exposed to outdoor elements such as UV rays and sunlight.

L801 Plus Maintenance Requirements

The Memjet printhead and service station need to be serviced and replaced regularly. Typical maintenance requirements include cleaning and replacing the printhead, cleaning debris from the cutting zone and sensors, cleaning the media guide, replacing the service station, replacing the aerosol fan filter, and replacing the waste ink absorber.
